Discovering Beautiful: Finding Freedom from Childhood Trauma and Self-Destruction
This book is for all of the adult children who feel misunderstood and unseen. I wanted to give a voice to the marginalized; to the adult children who grew up drowning in severe dysfunction.
I want those readers who had healthy childhood homes to read this and be left with a greater understanding of stigmas and the danger of labeling large groups of people-leaving them with a desire to learn more and to grow in their empathy for things they don’t quite understand.
Generational cycles and patterns can be broken.
We can heal from our wounds.
We can move forward from the damage caused by mentally ill parents, drug-addicted parents, and from neglect and abuse.
We can thrive if we are not ever actually healed in every affected area.
My hope is to encourage others to not feel ashamed of their experiences and to step away from thinking that they are inherently damaged or too far gone.
It’s never too late for God to change your life!
